Shoreline is looking for a Technical Writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces change as our products continue to evolve.

What you will do

Main responsibilities:

Helping to improve the understanding of our products for both internal and external users.
Producing and maintaining support documentation to help our customers get the most out of our advanced software.
Producing and maintaining training materials such as videos and documentation to help onboard and upskill users, and support knowledge sharing within the company and our customers.
Producing release notes and announcements to share exciting product updates with users.
Driving the content management and publishing strategy for our user documentation and training materials.
Working with another Technical Writer to develop and document the publishing process and standards that will be applied to all documentation for the product.
Working with subject matter experts to create and deliver content based on product timelines and customer needs.
Editing, clarifying, and proofreading documents others write and coaching others on improving their writing.
Organizing videos and documentation and ensuring it's discoverable.

Who you are

Key skills & experience

You love digging in, learning new things, and making complex concepts accessible to a broad audience.
You can understand the needs of our different user groups and craft the information accordingly.
You obsess over language and communication and aim to improve your practice, process, and craft continuously.
You're able to assess priorities and be effective with minimal guidance.
You have experience working with data in a product context or you're interested in doing so.

Qualifications

Native or fluent English skills; written and spoken.
5+ years of technical writing or other relevant experience.
Experience working with technical products.
Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders and users.
Examples that show your ability to document complex technical products for a broader audience.

Preferred skills & experience

Professional experience with and a passion for operations research and simulation modeling.
Professional experience working with renewable energy companies.
Experience with multiple editing, publishing, and automation workflows.
Experience with large information architecture projects.
Conversant with Git and Markdown.
